Cultural Workshops

Learn, Create, and Connect

Our cultural workshops provide opportunities to experience the richness and diversity of Japanese culture through hands-on learning, meaningful conversations, and shared experiences. From traditional arts and customs to contemporary culture and everyday life in Japan, our workshops encourage curiosity, creativity, and community while welcoming learners of all ages and backgrounds.

Because our programs are community-based, workshop offerings are flexible and may be developed in response to community interests, requests, and partnerships.

Examples of Workshops

Workshops may include:

• Origami workshops for children, teens, and adults

• Japanese home cooking, such as onigiri, makizushi, gyoza, and other family recipes

• Traditional Japanese games and activities, including kendama, koma (spinning tops), karuta, and other seasonal or cultural games

• Manga or Japanese book discussion clubs

• Contemporary Japanese culture, including food, language, customs, popular culture, and everyday life in Japan

• Parent workshops offering practical strategies and resources for supporting Japanese language learning, cultural connections, and multilingual development at home

• Seasonal traditions, festivals, and cultural celebrations

• Community-building and team-building workshops

• Private workshops for birthdays, family gatherings, schools, community organizations, and special events
